Practice Policies
Court Involvement and Testimony
I do not serve as a witness or provide testimony for court hearings, including acting as an expert witness or participating in depositions.
Therapy is intended to support the client’s mental health and treatment goals and is not intended to provide forensic evaluations, custody evaluations, or other forensic services.
If a client becomes involved in a legal or court-related matter, the therapist may discuss whether continued treatment is clinically appropriate and whether a referral for forensic or other specialized services may be appropriate
Emergency and Crisis Situations
My practice is not intended to provide emergency or crisis services. If you are experiencing an emergency or are in immediate danger, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, you can contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or use the 988 Lifeline online chat.
Please do not use email, voicemail, or the website contact form for urgent or emergency matters, as these are not monitored continuously and may not receive an immediate response.
Telehealth services
Telehealth services are provided through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Telehealth sessions are provided only when you are physically located in the state of Florida at the time of your session. Your physical location may be confirmed at the beginning of each session.
Sessions are intended to be conducted from a private, quiet, and appropriate location where you can participate safely and confidentially.
Phone-based counseling is not provided. Clients must participate through the designated telehealth platform with video enabled.
For safety and clinical reasons, clients may not participate in sessions while driving or while in a moving or parked vehicle, whether as the driver or a passenger. This policy applies even if the client has given permission for another person in the vehicle to hear or participate in the session.
Sessions may not be conducted in public settings or other locations where privacy cannot be reasonably maintained. If a client joins a session while driving, in a vehicle, or in a public setting, the session will be ended and may be rescheduled in accordance with practice policies.
Clients are expected to ensure they have a stable internet connection, a charged device, and a private environment before beginning each session.
Communication & Response Times
Communication outside of scheduled sessions is limited to brief, administrative matters related to scheduling, appointments, and other aspects of your care. Therapy and clinical concerns are best addressed during scheduled sessions.
You may contact me through the designated practice communication methods provided to you. I aim to respond to messages within 1–2 business days. Response times may vary during weekends, holidays, or periods when the practice is closed.
Please do not use email, voicemail, or other electronic messaging for urgent or emergency matters. These methods are not monitored continuously. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency, please refer to the Emergency & Crisis Situations section of these Practice Policies.
Late Arrival & Session Times
Sessions begin and end at their scheduled times. If you arrive late to a session, the session will still end at the originally scheduled time.
A 15-minute late arrival limit applies to scheduled sessions. If you have not joined the session within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time and have not communicated with the practice, the session may be considered a no-show and may be subject to the practice’s cancellation/no-show policy.
Late arrival does not extend the scheduled session time or result in additional time being added to the session.
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
I understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice are subject to a $75 cancellation/no-show fee.
The cancellation/no-show fee is not billed to insurance and is the client’s responsibility.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to your scheduled appointment without prior communication, the appointment may be considered a no-show and the $75 fee may apply.
Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in discharge from services.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are uninsured or who choose not to use insurance may be entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for healthcare services.
For private-pay services, my standard rate is $150 per 60-minute session. Because the frequency and duration of therapy varies based on each client’s individual needs and treatment goals, the anticipated cost of services will be estimated based on the information available at the time the estimate is prepared. A Good Faith Estimate is an estimate of expected charges and is not a guarantee of the number or duration of sessions. Actual costs may vary depending on the services provided and the frequency of treatment.
If you have questions about your Good Faith Estimate, please contact the practice.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Your privacy is important to me. Information shared during therapy is kept private and confidential in accordance with applicable laws and professional standards.
There are limited circumstances in which confidentiality may be required or permitted to be disclosed, including situations involving suspected abuse or neglect of a child, vulnerable adult, or elderly person; serious and imminent risk of harm to yourself or others; or when disclosure is required by law or court order.
Information may also be shared when necessary for healthcare operations, payment, or treatment purposes, as permitted by applicable law.
For more information about how your personal information is collected, used, and protected, please review the practice’s Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices.
